How to Make Chaga Tea

by ARIEL MOGHADDAM |  | 1 comment

Chaga is a common mushroom popular in Baltic countries as a food and as medicine. Chaga is a highly nutritious mushroom packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. It also makes a wonderful tea that has been popular for thousands of years.

If you've been looking for ways to incorporate your Chaga Extract Powder into your diet, making chaga tea is a unique and enjoyable way to do so. It's also very easy, since most of the work of preparing chaga has been done for you thanks to the powdered form it comes in.

Directions:

In order to prepare chaga tea, you will need a tea ball and some way to prepare hot water. Place a few teaspoons full of Chaga Extract Powder into the tea ball, and place in the bottom of your cup. In a tea kettle or pot, bring water to close to a boil before pouring it over the tea ball. Let stand for 4-6 minutes before removing the tea ball.

Chaga tea has a very earthy flavor. Some people say there is a hint of vanilla in it, while others say it has a bitter note rather like coffee. If you taste your chaga tea and discover it needs a bit of work, there are several ways you can improve on the tea to make it more enjoyable.

  1. Add a splash of almond milk
Almond milk has a nutty flavor that compliments the flavors of chaga very well. Use plain almond milk, or vanilla flavored to help bring out the vanilla notes in chaga. You can also sweeten it a little with honey if you want a sweet treat.

  2. Make a Chaga Latte
Add ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon to the base tea recipe above, and make the chaga tea as normal. Once your chaga tea has steeped, add ¼ cup coconut milk and 1 teaspoon of honey. Blend well. The resulting latte is a delicious way to enjoy chaga tea.

  3. Add Chai seasoning for a Chai Chaga Latte
You can also make it into a chai chaga latte by adding a teaspoon of chai seasonings such as cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and ginger to the tea ball, about 2 tablespoons of the mix to 1 tablespoon of Chaga Extract Powder.

We recommend that you try the base chaga tea first, so you can best experience the flavor and decide for yourself where it needs to go. Chaga tea has been enjoyed plain around the world for thousands of years, but with a little creativity you can turn it into a delicious tea you can easily enjoy daily.

You may only need a splash of almond milk to make it something you can enjoy, or discover that a chaga chai latte is the right treat for you. What ever the case, you can rest assured every sip you take has amazing health benefits, from providing you with basic nutrition to reducing your risk of a number of different chronic ailments.
