Smoking May Bring on Early Heart Disease

A new study has shed light on the detriments of smoking, and it’s even more bad news for those with the habit. The study, published February 15, 2021, looked at how smoking and the use of other substances such as alcohol or recreational drugs, affected the heart. The study found that smokers are more likely to have a cardiac event such as a heart attack or stroke before the age of 40. It also found that those who smoked were much more likely to show premature signs of heart disease, which was defined as heart disease before the age of 55 in men, and 65 in women.
